Who we are
Velpaper is a wallpaper website and mobile application operated by PatStudio LLC. This Privacy Policy covers velpaper.com, bckend.velpaper.com and the Velpaper iOS and Android apps. For privacy questions or requests, email connect@patstudio.tech.
What the app keeps on your device
You can browse without an account. Saved wallpaper IDs, filter preferences, language or display preferences and the time you dismissed an app-install suggestion may be stored locally. Image previews may be cached for faster loading. These preferences are not synchronised to a Velpaper account. Clearing website storage or removing the app clears the corresponding local app data; images saved to your photo library remain until you remove them.
Images and optional motion
When you download a wallpaper, Velpaper adds the image to your photo library or Android Pictures/Velpaper folder, using the device permission where required. This does not give us access to upload your existing photos. The optional iOS tilt preview processes motion sensor readings on the device to move the preview. We do not send those sensor readings to our servers or use them for advertising.
Requests and rewarded downloads
Our services and infrastructure providers process network requests, which can include IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamps and technical error information. We use this information to deliver images, operate the API and prevent abuse. Rewarded download attempts store a random attempt ID, a hash of an authorisation secret, wallpaper ID, advertising placement ID, expiry and, after verification, the provider transaction ID and reward timestamp. We do not attach a Velpaper account or a user-supplied advertising profile to these records.
Advertising and consent
The native apps integrate Google AdMob and Google User Messaging Platform. Depending on your device settings, consent, SDK and advertising configuration, Google can process IP-derived approximate location, device or advertising identifiers, ad interactions and diagnostic/performance data for ads, measurement and fraud prevention. Any browser advertising is provided through Google Ad Manager when enabled. Available consent choices are shown where required; the app also offers advertising privacy choices when Google requires them. Device advertising/privacy settings provide additional controls. Watching an available rewarded ad unlocks a download when the SDK confirms the reward. If an ad cannot be loaded or shown, the app can allow the download free. Closing a shown ad before its reward does not count as completion.
Service providers and sharing
Railway hosts our web/API services and database. Cloudflare provides domain/DNS services and, where configured, delivery, caching and object storage. Google provides advertising, consent and reward verification. These providers process information needed to supply their services under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not sell a separate Velpaper customer database. Advertising processing may be treated as sharing or targeted advertising under some laws. We may disclose information when legally required or needed to protect the service.
Download statistics
We count completed delivery of original wallpaper files to understand which artworks are popular. Random download request IDs are retained for up to 30 days to deduplicate retries; daily and total counts are retained as aggregate statistics. These statistics do not store your IP address, advertising ID, account ID or device fingerprint, and do not confirm that you saved a file to your photo library. Infrastructure logs and advertising data are handled separately as described above.
Storage, retention and deletion
Local preferences remain until you clear them or remove the app. Downloaded images are under your control. Reward authorisation expires after 10 minutes; expired reward records are eligible for automatic removal after one day, with cleanup at startup and periodically while the backend runs. Infrastructure logs and provider advertising data follow the relevant provider retention settings and policies. Support messages are kept only as needed to address your request and related legal or security obligations. You can request access, correction or deletion of information we hold by emailing connect@patstudio.tech; include only the details needed to locate the request. Velpaper does not currently create user accounts, so there is no account to delete.
Security and international processing
We use HTTPS for public service and image requests and restrict access to our backend and stored authorisation secrets. No system can guarantee absolute security. Providers can process data in countries other than yours; their applicable contracts and safeguards govern those transfers.
Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or receive your data, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent or complain to your local data protection authority. Contact connect@patstudio.tech to exercise applicable rights. Refusing an optional device permission leaves the relevant feature unavailable without preventing basic browsing. For data held directly by Google or another provider, their privacy controls and request process may also be necessary.
Children and changes
Velpaper is not designed for children under 13 and does not intentionally collect their personal information. If you believe a child has supplied personal information, contact us. We will update this page when our practices change and show the new effective date. New features that change data use will be reflected here before they are released.
