4K wallpapers

4K wallpapers are images of about 3840 x 2160 pixels, roughly 8.3 million pixels and four times the detail of Full HD at 1920 x 1080. This page collects every 4K wallpaper in Velpaper, the wallpaper app for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Android. All of them are original designs by designer Carlos Vivero, with no fan art, characters or brands. Phone wallpapers come in vertical 4K, 2160 x 3840 at 9:16, and unlock after a short optional ad in the apps. Desktop wallpapers are 3840 x 2160 at 16:9, some are 5K at 5120 x 2880, and they download free on this website. A practical tip: iPhone screens are below 4K, for example the iPhone 17 Pro Max is 2868 x 1320, so a 4K file stays sharp when you zoom in or move it to make room for the clock and widgets. On a Mac with a Studio Display, pick a 5K file.

FAQ

What resolution is 4K?

4K means about 3840 x 2160 pixels, roughly 8.3 million pixels, which is four times Full HD at 1920 x 1080. Phones use the same size turned on its side, so Velpaper phone wallpapers are 2160 x 3840 in a 9:16 ratio. Desktop wallpapers are 3840 x 2160 at 16:9, and some come in 5K at 5120 x 2880.

Is a 4K wallpaper too big for my phone, or does it look sharper?

It is not too big. iPhone screens are below 4K: the iPhone 17 Pro Max, for example, is 2868 x 1320 pixels. Your phone scales the image down to fit the screen, so it looks sharp. The extra pixels help when you zoom in or move the wallpaper to make room for the clock and widgets, because the image does not turn blurry.

How do I set a wallpaper on iPhone or Android?

On iPhone, save the image, open Photos, tap Share and choose Use as Wallpaper. You can also set it straight from the Velpaper app. On Android, long-press an empty spot on the home screen and open Wallpaper & style. Menu names vary by phone maker and system version, so the ones on your phone may look slightly different.

Are Velpaper wallpapers free?

Desktop and Mac wallpapers in 4K and 5K download free on velpaper.com. Phone wallpapers unlock in the Velpaper apps for iPhone, iPad and Android after a short optional ad, and then you save the full 2160 x 3840 file to your device. Every wallpaper is an original design by Carlos Vivero.
