A green aesthetic wallpaper works when it commits to one kind of green. Deep jade and emerald feel calm and expensive on a dark screen; sage and mint feel fresh and quiet on a light one. Mixing them, or adding a bright leaf green, is what makes a green background look loud.
This collection gathers the green wallpapers from the Velpaper catalog: ten tall ones for iPhone and Android at 2160 × 3840 and five wide ones for desktop at 3840 × 2160 and 5120 × 2880. Most are architecture and abstract glass, one is a foggy lake at dusk, and none of them are photos of leaves.
Why green works on a screen
Green sits between warm and cool. That makes it the easiest colour to live with all day: it does not glare like white, does not sink like black and does not fight with app icons the way red or orange can.
It also bends to either mode. A dark jade background keeps a white clock and white widgets crisp, and on an OLED screen the deep tones look almost lit from inside. A pale sage background suits dark text and a light Home Screen without the harshness of pure white.
And green has been everywhere in 2026, from electric lime to soft olive. Our piece on 2026 colour trend wallpapers covers the brighter end of that palette.
Dark green: jade and emerald wallpapers
These are for dark mode and night use. Each one keeps its upper quarter in a quiet deep tone, so the clock sits on solid colour rather than on detail.

Jade District4K · PhoneJade Mint Arch is the most striking: one tall rounded arch cut into a deep petrol-teal wall, its curved inner side washed in mint light and a lime glow on the far wall. Jade Cut Ascent is a single flight of broad steps cut into a dark jade block, with pale lime light grazing the treads and forest-teal shadow on the risers; it also appears in our minimalist staircase collection.
Jade Light Fold layers two frosted glass planes, one pale celadon and one darker jade, over a deep teal ground, with a soft green seam where they overlap. Mint Contours is a close view of rounded glassy terraces in smoky emerald and pale mint. Jade District is the photographic one: a canal at night between dark towers, jade light on the water and a few amber windows.
Soft green: sage and mint wallpapers
Sage and mint are the greens for a light screen. They read as calm rather than colourful, and they make a busy Home Screen look tidier than a white background does.

A Window in the Fog4K · PhoneSage Sun Arch frames a muted sage wall in a broad off-white arch, crossed by one plane of warm sunlight: a Mediterranean courtyard reduced to three shapes. Celadon Haze is a slow gradient of seafoam and pale sage that melts into a buttery glow, with a hint of misty blue at the bottom.
Sage Passage looks down on wide channels of sage-coloured glass, eucalyptus green with pearly highlights. Mint Folded Flights folds a mint switchback staircase across the screen with cool teal shadows. A Window in the Fog is the softest of all: a small cabin by a lake at dusk, one amber window, and grey-green fog filling the upper half.
Green wallpapers for desktop in 4K and 5K
The desktop versions are composed for a wide screen, with the main shape to one side and quiet space for icons and windows. All five are free.

Trencadis Wave4K · DesktopSage Sun Gallery is the wide sibling of Sage Sun Arch at 5K: the arch sits right of centre and a long ivory wall fills the left, which leaves room for desktop icons. Jade Mint Portal does the same for Jade Mint Arch, with mint light inside and an aqua reflection running across the floor.
Mint Folded Steps folds mint and teal stairs across the frame under a large near-white wall. Mint Stairs is a symmetrical Art Deco staircase in mint stucco rising to a doorway with a sunburst relief. Trencadis Wave curves a mosaic bench in pale blue, sea green and cream across a soft sky, a nod to Barcelona.

How to set a green wallpaper on Windows 11 and Mac
On Windows 11, download the desktop original, open Settings, Personalization, Background, choose Picture and browse to the file, with the fit set to Fill. Then open Colors and set the accent colour to Automatic: Windows picks a tone from the wallpaper, so the Start menu highlights and window borders turn a matching green. Our guide to changing the wallpaper on Windows 11 covers slideshows and second monitors.
On a Mac, open System Settings, Wallpaper, click Add Photo and pick the file. Under Appearance you can also set the accent colour to green, which carries the colour into buttons and selected text. Combined with Sage Sun Gallery or Jade Mint Portal, the whole screen feels like one palette.
How to choose a green wallpaper
Match the green to your mode. Dark mode wants jade and emerald, light mode wants sage, mint and celadon. A deep green behind a light interface looks heavy, and a pale one behind dark mode looks washed out.
Check the clock. On the dark greens, a white clock is always readable. On sage and celadon, use a darker clock tint, or pick a wallpaper whose upper quarter is a flat colour, like Sage Sun Arch.
Mind the neighbours. Green sits next to teal and blue, and some of these wallpapers drift that way. If you like the cooler side, our blue aesthetic wallpapers continue where the jade ones stop. For a bolder accent, Lime Violet Helix pairs neon lime steps with violet walls.
Use the original. Smooth gradients like Celadon Haze are where compression shows first, as visible bands. Download the full file from the wallpaper page rather than saving a screenshot.

Questions
What is a green aesthetic wallpaper?
It is a wallpaper built around one calm family of green rather than a bright mix: deep jade and emerald, or soft sage, mint and celadon. The look is minimal, with large areas of colour, soft light and very little detail, so icons and the clock stay readable. In this collection that means abstract glass, simple architecture such as arches and stairs, and one foggy landscape, all in 4K for phones and 4K or 5K for desktops.
Which green wallpaper is best for dark mode?
Choose the deep greens: Jade Mint Arch, Jade Cut Ascent, Jade Light Fold, Mint Contours or Jade District. Their upper quarter stays a dark teal or jade, so a white clock and white widgets read clearly. On an OLED screen these tones look rich without lighting up the whole panel. For a desktop in dark mode, Jade Mint Portal is the wide version of the same idea and is free to download at 3840 × 2160.
Are there green aesthetic wallpapers for PC?
Yes. Five green desktop wallpapers are included: Sage Sun Gallery at 5120 × 2880, and Jade Mint Portal, Mint Folded Steps, Mint Stairs and Trencadis Wave at 3840 × 2160. They are composed for a wide screen, with the main shape to one side so icons and windows have room. A 4K file stays sharp on 1080p, 1440p and 4K monitors, and the 5K one suits a 5K iMac or Studio Display. All desktop wallpapers on Velpaper are free.
Is sage or mint better for a light theme?
Both work, and they feel different. Sage is greyer and warmer, so it reads as calm and grown-up; Sage Sun Arch and Sage Passage are good examples. Mint is cooler and brighter, closer to fresh and playful, as in Mint Folded Flights. If your apps are mostly white, sage blends in more quietly. If you want the wallpaper to feel a little more lively, choose mint, and use a darker clock tint either way.
Are these green wallpapers free?
Browsing and previewing are free on the website and in the apps. All five desktop wallpapers in this collection are free to download. The phone wallpapers unlock after a short optional ad in the iPhone and Android apps; on the website, if no ad is available, the original downloads for free. There is no account and no subscription, and every download is the full original without a watermark.
