The official GTA 6 wallpaper art comes from Rockstar Games and lives on rockstargames.com/VI. If you want the same sun-bleached Vice City mood on your phone without characters or logos, the GTA 6 collection on Velpaper gives you 13 original 4K wallpapers: palm crowns, chrome, a neon motel sign and a pastel lifeguard tower, all at 2160 × 3840 pixels for any iPhone or Android phone.
Grand Theft Auto VI arrives on 19 November 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It is set in Leonida, a state inspired by Florida, around Vice City, which is modelled on Miami. The lock screen is the easiest place to carry that look around. Below: where the official art is, what is in our set, how to build the palette on your lock screen and how to set it on iOS 26 and Android 16.
Official GTA 6 wallpapers: where to get them
Official GTA 6 art belongs to Rockstar and lives on rockstargames.com. Rockstar publishes its artwork and wallpapers on the Grand Theft Auto VI page, so that is the place for the cover, the logo and anything showing the game's characters. Files elsewhere that carry them were not made by Velpaper, and most are crops or screenshots.
The cover art, revealed on 18 June 2026, follows the series' classic multi-panel collage: illustrated frames stacked side by side, in a purple and pink palette. The official art features the game's characters, which is exactly why it belongs to Rockstar.
The style did not stay on the cover. On 15 and 16 September 2026, artists from Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, 34 original tracks made with Atlantic Records and out the same day as the game, posted promo art in the same illustrated look. Spotify put the images on billboards in New York and Los Angeles. There was a purple sports car for Metro Boomin, Future and Yung Lean, a white yacht for CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, an iguana for Keith Richards, a pink flamingo float for Rauw Alejandro and a pool ladder for Morgan Wallen.
Look at what those pieces share: one object, a hot Florida palette, nothing else in the frame. That is also the recipe for a good phone wallpaper, because the clock and your notifications need empty space around a single subject.
What is in the Velpaper GTA 6 collection
If you want the same sun-bleached Vice City mood without characters or logos, here are original 4K wallpapers made for phone screens. Each one is a Velpaper illustration at 2160 × 3840 pixels, inspired by the retro Florida feel of the GTA VI era. None of them is taken from the game or shows anything from it.
| Wallpaper | Mood | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Palm Glint | Palm crown from below, sun glint | Lock screen clock |
| Jet Ski Nose | Turquoise water, close-up | Home screen |
| Chrome Headlight | Retro convertible chrome | Lock screen clock |
| Deco Hotel Glow | Art deco balconies, neon fins | Lock screen clock |
| Chrome Speedboat | Speedboat with chrome rails | Home screen |
| Lifeguard Tower Dusk | Pastel tower, red float | OLED |
| Neon Arrow Motel | Motel arrow sign with bulbs | Lock screen clock |
| Pier Pelican | Bright, pelican on a piling | Home screen |
| Palm Boulevard Mirror | Palm boulevard in a side mirror | Lock screen clock |
| Boardwalk Skates | Roller skates, pink wheels | Home screen |
| Marble Bar Cocktail | Umbrella cocktail on marble | Home screen |
| Beach Boombox | Chrome boombox on sand | OLED |
| Ocean Boulevard Lamp | Palms and a street lamp at dusk | OLED |
Three of them carry the Vice City feeling on their own.
Palm Glint looks straight up into a palm crown, with a glint of sun. Deco Hotel Glow is an art deco hotel with rounded balconies and neon fins, the most Ocean Drive piece in the set. Neon Arrow Motel is a motel arrow sign lined with bulbs, pure roadside Florida.
How to get the GTA 6 look on your lock screen
The official art works because of colour, not detail. You can rebuild that on any phone with three choices.
The palette: violet, magenta, peach, teal
Violet and magenta come from the cover. Peach is the washed-out afternoon light, and teal is the water. A wallpaper that holds two of the four already reads as Vice City. Jet Ski Nose brings the turquoise, Palm Boulevard Mirror the peach, and Lifeguard Tower Dusk the violet with one red accent in its float. Pick widgets and app icons in a matching tint and the whole phone follows.
Depth effect
On iPhone, a single strong subject such as a palm crown or a chrome headlight can stand in front of the clock. iOS only offers this when it finds a clear subject and the subject does not hide too much of the time. Our guide to the iPhone depth effect explains when it switches on and what to do when it stays greyed out.
Clock colour
Do not leave the clock on automatic. On violet dusk pieces, a pale peach or plain white clock looks like neon on a night sign. On a bright piece like Pier Pelican, a deep navy clock reads better. Take the colour from the wallpaper itself and the screen looks designed rather than decorated.
These three are the darkest of the set, which suits OLED screens and dark mode: the lifeguard tower, the palms with a street lamp at dusk and the chrome boombox on sand.

Older Velpaper pieces that fit the mood
The GTA 6 collection is new, but a few earlier sunset wallpapers share its palette and sit well beside it in a rotation.
Palm Afterglow is a single palm silhouette over a mauve and apricot sky. Coral Palms puts two coconut palms against peach light on lavender water. Peach Riviera adds a warmer coastline. Questions
Where can I download official GTA 6 wallpapers?
Official GTA 6 wallpapers and artwork are published by Rockstar Games on its own site, rockstargames.com/VI. That is the place for the cover art revealed on 18 June 2026, the logo and any image showing the game's characters. Rockstar owns that art, so other sites that repost it are usually sharing crops, screenshots or compressed copies. If you want an original wallpaper in a similar retro Florida mood instead, the GTA 6 category on Velpaper has 13 illustrations at 2160 × 3840 pixels without characters or logos.
Are the wallpapers in Velpaper's GTA 6 category official?
No. They are original Velpaper illustrations, not made by or for Rockstar Games, and they do not show any GTA characters, logos or scenes. They share a mood with the game's Vice City: palms, chrome, art deco hotels, neon motel signs and a violet, peach and teal palette. Velpaper is not affiliated with Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive, and Grand Theft Auto is their trademark. For official art, go to rockstargames.com/VI.
What is the best GTA 6 wallpaper size in 4K?
For a phone, 2160 × 3840 pixels. That is 4K standing upright, taller than every current iPhone and most Android screens, so the phone only has to scale it down and trim a little at the sides. All 13 wallpapers in the GTA 6 collection are made at that size. For a PC monitor you need a wide frame instead, 3840 × 2160 for a 4K display. The collection is phone format only, so for desktop GTA 6 art, Rockstar's own site is the source.
When does GTA 6 come out?
Grand Theft Auto VI by Rockstar Games releases on 19 November 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It is set in the state of Leonida, inspired by Florida, around Vice City, which is modelled on Miami. Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, with 34 original tracks made with Atlantic Records, comes out the same day. The official cover art was revealed on 18 June 2026 in the series' multi-panel collage style with a purple and pink palette.
How do I make my lock screen look like GTA 6?
Use colour rather than logos. Pick a wallpaper built on two of these four tones: violet, magenta, peach and teal. Keep one subject in the lower half, such as a palm crown, a chrome headlight or a motel sign, so the clock has calm space above it. Then set the clock colour by hand from the wallpaper's palette, for example pale peach on a violet dusk. On iPhone, a clear subject can also use the depth effect and stand in front of the time.
